Privacy
This page explains what Clip to Recipe collects and what happens to your video.
Your video
Your video is uploaded to our storage, sent to Google’s Gemini API so the recipe can be written, and then deleted from both. That happens whether the recipe was written successfully or not. We do not keep your video.
What we store
- Your email address. If you sign in with Google, we get it from Google, and that’s all we take from your Google account.
- The recipe text written from your video, and any edits you make to it.
- A scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address. We do not store the address itself.
- A record of what you do on the site, such as uploading, copying a recipe or viewing pricing.
- The Instagram handle on the link you arrived from, if we sent you one.
- Anything you type into a mistake report or the pricing form.
- If you subscribe: your plan, its status and the amounts you’ve paid. Dodo Payments takes the payment; we never see your card or bank details.
How we use it
To write your recipe, to apply the free limit, to learn whether creators find this useful, and to email you about the service if you asked to join a plan.
Cookies
We set up to three cookies of our own. One remembers which link you arrived from. One connects your browser to your email so we know you have used your free Reel. The third keeps you signed in, if you sign in. The sign-in page loads Google’s sign-in button, which uses Google’s own cookies. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who else handles it
The companies that run the service for us: Supabase (database and storage), Google (the Gemini API, and sign-in if you use it), Netlify (hosting) and Dodo Payments (payments, if you subscribe). We do not sell your information.
Deleting your information
Email help@cliptorecipe.com and we will delete your email address and recipes.
